Parent Quote
“This conference did not just inform young ladies and women about mental health awareness, it also taught SISTERHOOD and even though you may not know each other personally, you can always support your sister! I wish this could be an ongoing event! Well done to all the ladies that helped make this successful and thank you Shana for having the vision and then executing it!”
Volunteer Quote
“I enjoyed being a big sister to my group of young ladies. This was my first year volunteering and they made me feel comfortable and vice versa. It was an awesome weekend for my daughter and I. I really wanted her to attend and she had fun and made a new friend”
Solution
Through 2 days of a keynote, closing, small group and plenary sessions, the middle and high school cohorts explored the realities of being a young woman of color in today’s society, and how positive mental health can impact and dictate their self-esteem and confidence, sexual health, relationships, and sisterhood.
